Codex Monitor support
A little help
getting started.
Everything you need to get your usage into the menu bar.
Install Codex Monitor
Codex Monitor is completely free to download and use.
The current download is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Codex must be installed and signed in. An Intel build is not included.
- Download CodexMonitor.dmg from the latest GitHub release.
- Open the DMG and drag Codex Monitor into Applications.
- Launch Codex Monitor and click its icon in your menu bar.
The distributed app and DMG are Developer ID signed and Apple notarized.
Usage isn’t showing up
First, open Codex and check that you’re signed in. Then return to Codex Monitor and click Refresh. If you’ve just changed accounts or plans, give the app a moment to reconnect.
Five-hour usage is hidden by default. To see it, open the app’s settings and enable 5-Hour Usage.
Update the app
Check for updates in the app settings and follow the in-app update flow. You can also download the latest DMG and replace the copy in Applications.
